Description
This project involved designing a website for an online magazine that celebrates architecture, art, and culture. CHALLENGE The primary challenge was crafting an engaging reading experience for lengthy essays, addressing the common tendency to skim long texts online. To achieve this, I researched readability-focused design strategies and ultimately crafted an interface that balances depth with visual appeal. DESIGN The design is inspired by the original 1980s print concept of Daidalos Magazine, combined with the spirit of the Greek mythological figure Daedalus, known for his innovation and artistry. Essays are visually presented to resemble the back covers of books on a "digital bookshelf," adding a tactile, literary feel that invites readers to dive into each piece. The result is a modern, yet timeless design that respects the magazine's heritage while providing a seamless, engaging digital experience.
